Director of Counseling Ministry
Julie holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. She is committed to ongoing education and holds several certifications. She has over 36 years of ministry experience, serving in various roles both vocationally and alongside her pastor husband. Julie uses an integrative approach to counseling best described as clinically-informed Christian counseling.
She addresses a wide range of problems such as anxiety, depression, anger, grief/loss, insecurity/low view of self, life adjustments/transitions, spiritual doubts/confusion, relationship challenges, divorce recovery, acute trauma, life disappointments, recovery from childhood wounds, and living with chronic illness.
She conducts short-term counseling with Cross Church members only, individuals ages 18 and up, with follow-up sessions available. (Not designed to be a long-term therapeutic option.) All sessions are conducted in person at Cross Church Springdale, or by Zoom if desired. There is a small “pay what you can” fee charged per session that goes to support the Counseling Ministry.

Chris Plunkett, MA
Chris has 20 years of full-time vocational ministry experience working with adults of all ages. He holds a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is nearing completion of his doctorate in Marriage and Family Counseling at Liberty University. He is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Chris provides clinically informed pastoral counseling that integrates biblical truth, sound counseling principles, and compassionate relational care. His approach helps individuals and couples look beneath presenting struggles to better understand the desires, fears, beliefs, and relational patterns shaping their responses. He seeks to create a safe and honest environment where people can experience meaningful connection, take personal responsibility, and pursue lasting relational and spiritual growth.
He conducts short-term counseling for couples and men ages 18 and up, Cross Church members only. Follow-up sessions are available. Since this is not designed to be a long-term therapeutic option, referrals are offered for individuals/couples in crisis needing more complex help. Sophia Vincent, MA, MTS
Sophia graduated from Cross Theological Seminary in 2026 with a Master of Theological Studies degree. She also holds Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of Arts in Teaching degrees from the University of Arkansas. Sophia began working with the Counseling Ministry in June 2024, and has extensive experience mentoring and discipling college-age and young adult women, helping them develop spiritual disciplines, walk through various challenges and life transitions, and navigate present circumstances and issues. Her training includes a biblical counseling foundational class through Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, along with a Biblical Counseling certification and Mental Health Coaching certification through Light University, a partnership organization with the American Association of Christian Counselors.
In addition to being the Intake Coordinator for the Counseling Ministry, she provides short-term Christian mentoring for Cross Church members only, women ages 18-28. Sessions are conducted in-person for no charge at various locations to be determined collaboratively, and are 60 minutes in length.

Elizabeth Dowell, MS, LPC
Elizabeth holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Brown University. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). She enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and couples. She has experience working with PTSD, anxiety and depression, life adjustments, insecurities and low self-esteem, spiritual doubts, and relationship conflict. She believes each person and situation is unique, and tailors her therapeutic approach around the needs of each person and family.
Elizabeth serves all couples, families, and individuals ages 12 and older, including Cross Church members and anyone in the community or state of Arkansas, providing both in-person counseling at Cross Church Springdale, and Telehealth services. She has no limit on sessions and accepts most major insurance plans. She also has a private pay option for the uninsured or those choosing to not use insurance; the private pay rate is determined by Living Well Counseling upon registration.

Waylon Vandehoef, MDiv, LPC
Waylon holds a Master of Divinity with specialization in Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and is a licensed mental health therapist in the state of Arkansas. He is trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). He has over a decade of professional counseling experience with individuals and couples. He also serves part-time as Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Administration at Elmdale Baptist Church in Springdale, one of Cross Church Network churches.

Juliana Bennett, LCSW
Juliana holds a Master of Science in Social Work from Arkansas State University. She is trained in EMDR and holds a certificate in Addiction Studies. She has experience in both outpatient and inpatient clinical settings, using both EMDR and other evidence-based approaches to help people worth through trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, and the experiences that can result in feeling stuck or overwhelmed. She is passionate about helping people find hope, healing and peace. She believes that meaningful change happens when people feel seen, understood, and supported in a safe and compassionate environment.Her hope is to walk alongside individuals of all ages and stages of life as they move toward greater freedom and wholeness.
